Saving American Lives
By dropping the Atomic bombs, it saved an estimated one million American lives. There was a huge lack of resources and if they continued to fight the way they were, many more lives would have been taken. If America hadn't dropped them, Japan was preparing to attack the U.S. This invasion was known as Operation Downfall. If Japan had attacked the U.S., there would have been many casualties on the Japanese as well. The Japanese were training boy and girls to strap explosives to themselves and throw themselves in front of tanks. They even extended the draft so that men from ages 15 to 60, and women from ages 17 to 45, would have to fight. Knowing this, the dropping of the A bomb was cleaarly a better choice.
